ADT Miami, How to find the right ADT provider in Miami, Florida?

  • Miami Florida residents everywhere are protecting their homes with America’s number one name in home security, ADT. This is truly not an opinion, but is an actual fact. Just take a drive down any road in Miami, Florida or for that matter, drive down any road in Dade County and you will see home after home displaying the familiar ADT yard sign. Homeowners everywhere trust the ADT name to provide for their security needs. And more importantly, they trust ADT to provide peace of mind for themselves and their loved ones. So in light of this, does it really matter what ADT dealer installs your home security system? Aren’t they all authorized by ADT to perform installations on their behalf? These are questions that most don’t ask because they simply assume that all ADT authorized dealers are the same. However, nothing could be further from the truth. Although ADT goes to great lengths to ensure the authorized dealer is a legitimate licensed and insured alarm contractor, there still are some things to consider before letting anyone into your home to install your security system. And that brings us to the purpose of this article, which is to give you some things to look for when hiring an ADT dealer to come and install your home security system.

Probably the main and most important thing to consider before having an installer actually come into your home is to ensure that the representative you are dealing with is the actual authorized dealer. Unknown to most people out there, authorized ADT dealers actually have what is known in the industry as sub-dealers. Sub- dealers are individuals who represent themselves as authorized ADT dealers but are not licensed to represent themselves as alarm contractors. Sub dealers work under the authorized dealers license and hire unlicensed installers to perform the work. The real authorized dealer withholds a part of the contract payment as a condition for allowing the sub dealer to use their license and ability to submit the contract for purchase from ADT. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that this can only lead to trouble. If that sub dealer gets hurt while in your residence and likely has no Workers Comp insurance, then you are liable for his injuries. If something is damaged by the installer while he is on the job you will have no one to go after because this person was misrepresenting himself. Just because the paperwork says ADT on it doesn’t mean ADT checked to make sure the person in your home is the actual ADT authorized dealer. If your’e getting an ADT Miami alarm system installed, simply go on line and make sure the actual person coming into your home is listed at www.myflorida.com as an actual licensed alarm contractor.

The second and just as important thing to consider before actually having your home security system installed in your home is making sure that the actual installer is not a sub contractor. Although this may not seem like a big deal, it actually is because most sub contractors work for several companies and don’t really have a vested interest in any of the companies they perform work for. Make sure that the person who is coming to perform the installation is an actual employee of the ADT dealer. This will ensure that the job is done by someone who is actually employed by the dealer and will have no other ties with any other alarm company. There are many good sub contractors out there that are very capable of doing a great job in your home, however there are some out there that care nothing about you as a client and just wants to move on to the next job. Unfortunately since you don’t know which of the two you will get, it is much safer to just make sure that the person or persons showing up at your home to install the security system is an actual employee and not a sub-contractor.

There are a number of other things to consider before hiring and ADT authorized dealer, but these two factors are a great way to start ensuring everything goes well.
